PJ Green Inc. was established in 1928 by Philip J. Green as a house-to-house circular and promotional delivery business. Philip first provided this service by walking door-to-door, hanging product samples on each door knob. As this labor intensive method grew to be more of a chore as demand increased, Philip initiated the development of the first mailing list in the area by diligently combing the streets throughout the city–writing down all the addresses by hand. Philip began hiring high school students to cover some of the surrounding areas, and little by little this original database grew to include the entire state of New York.

Philip’s two sons, Terry and Pat, joined the business and helped to expand PJ Green to include the processing of mailed advertising, and other forms of volume mailing soon followed. Since its founding, PJ Green, Inc. has grown to become one of the top mailing companies in America today, processing millions of pieces of mail each week.

The main facility in Utica, New York has over 130,000 square feet of office, production and storage space, and is convenient to the New York State Thruway and other major routes. While PJ Green has always been principally located in Utica, NY, a satellite production facility is also located in Syracuse, NY.

PJ Green, Inc. is presently being operated by the Green family’s third generation. Much like their ancestors, their business philosophy remains to provide quality service using the most proficient technology, and to exceed all customers’ expectations.
